Regarded as another path-breaking initiative, CTC in association with TATA-BP SOLAR has setup a 'Solar-powered First-aid center' on the Bangalore-Mysore highway to administer first-aid to emergency victims in and around highway.
This unique facility supports the need of electricity in an emergency, which is crucial to medical equipments that assist an emergency. Most highways in the country where an electricity source is not available this system works perfectly by the storage of solar energy, which could be used even at nights.
This is a fully equipped first-aid center with necessary medical equipments, including an oxygen cylinder, a ventilator, a suction apparatus, first-aid kit and a spinal board.
A wireless handset is placed in the center aids in standard communications with the control room and hospitals.
Trained paramedics man the first-aid centers and administer first-aid in emergencies.
Further, if the condition of the victim is critical, then the paramedic calls for CTC Sanjeevini ambulance to transport the victim to the nearest hospital for intensive care.
Through the active participation of the public and the philanthropic oriented organizations, CTC envisages to replicate this novel concept throughout the country.
