Touted to be the another first of its kind in the country, this novel concept has been tested rigorously and implemented in our ambulance to facilitate medical emergencies, especially cardiac emergencies where the details of the patient, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, etc., can be measured in transit and transmitted to the hospital prior to the arrival. With this critical date the hospital can be prepared with specialist doctors, hospital crew, medicines, medical equipments, operation theatre etc., to ensure the patient is attended within the shortest possible time, enabling a better quality of life post-emergency.
The Tele-ambulance is equipped with a sophisticated computer and a wireless communication device to transmit the data to the hospital. This is a two-way communication system, which can receive both voice and data from the hospitals and the control room. In an emergency the control room after receiving the call with track the tele-ambulance through the GPS and locate the tele-ambulance nearest to the emergency and send a message for immediate pickup. On reaching the spot the paramedic administers first-aid and then collects the information about the condition of the patient using the medical equipments and the on-board computer, which will then be transmitted to the hospital for enabling preparedness.
